Sacajewea North Face Route Description and Trip Report (May 2005):
Abe Dickerson, Aaron Mordecai, and i established the first route on the remote north face of Sacajewea in the Lost River Range on Friday. Our route, Broken Wings, follows a one meter wide ice chimney on the right margin of the north face. This chimney system is of high quality compact limestone and is recessed deep inside a beautiful vertical headwall. We encountered some of the best alpine climbing any of us have experienced on our 1,500 foot technical journey to where our route terminates on the steep and exposed northwest ridge. Although not exceptionally long, about seven technical pitches, this route is in my opinion is one of the finest of it's kind in Idaho. The majority of the climbing involved 70 degree chimney ice, with each pitch offering something vertical to overhanging. The top transition pitch onto the steep snow was the typical scare fest exit. We traversed the NW ridge to the upper saddle on the SW ridge of Borah, then dropped down scary avalanche terrain, encountering an amazing seven foot crown in one gully, before regaining our bivi at the base of the north face of Sacajewea.

"Big Cave" Trip Report (May 2005)
This cave is located in south-central Idaho. As Dean puts it, the trip was "full of high energy, low gravity, big air, impressive on-sight's, second attempt redpoint's, fore-arm busting monkey business. 5.11 climbers need not apply...".

Dean also thanks Dave Bingham "for all of the hard work he put in to establishing the climbs, and for taking the time to share the afternoon with us".

Peak 11308 Trip Report (April 2005):
Alpine climbing.....Idaho style.

A few of us went up to the White Line Couloir on Piont 11,308 in the Lost River Range yesterday. We had a great time. Not hard, and way too much fun! A bit premature for conditions, i think next week could be better with more ice in the chimney pitches. As it was the runnels made for great mixed conditions. A great day in the mountains.
